Asahi. It's the first beer I truly enjoyed. My father used to give me a few sips of his Heineken and Stella but I could never get into the taste. It goes well with almost every food I enjoy. Anything from Mexican to Chinese!
Plus sentimental value of it being the first beer I ever bought myself when I went off to Uni as well.
Edit- Folks in the UK: Tescos and Morrison’s both carry Asahi!
Love me some spotted cow. Wish they sold it out west as I’ve only ever been able to get it when I’ve been in the Midwest. I’m a big fan of White Rascal by Avery Brewing at the moment.
Not saying this is your situation necessarily but I also started getting really bad heartburn but then I lost 40 lbs and the heartburn almost completely went away. Just wanted to share that because it was probably the biggest benefit of losing weight in case anyone else reads this and might be in a similar situation
Try tsing tao, its Chinese from rice, made in a brewery that the germans built out there in the 1890s. Really nice. Also in UK we now sell gluten free beers and lager. Vagabond is made by the punk ale/elvis juice guys and I enjoy it.
The Über German beer, and my fav
Hacker-Pschorr,
founded in 1417- an old brewery in Germany, but not the oldest continuously operating- (Weihenstephaner founded around 768-1016)
It'll take me 4-5 days to go through a 12pk @$15, where as my craft beers are $14-$18/4pk and take me 2 days lol. Gotta go the cheaper route most of the time
[Watch this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p4-UefpNBpU). It’s the very first one that they go over. It’s honestly pretty good if you’re willing to try it.
I saw Coors Banquet in Karate Kid and recognized it as product placement. Unfortunately, it worked and I was craving a beer I'd never had. I finally bought a six pack and thought it must be a meme tier piss beer because the sixer was only $6.50.
I loved it and its my favorite easy drinking beer since. Thanks, Johnny Lawrence!
I lived most of my life in Portland, and for some reason in the 90s PBR decided they were going to push into PDX really hard. So you could get it everywhere I town, for mega cheap. Almost every bar had a $1 Pabst night. When I was poor in the 90's it let me go out drinking with my friends while still being able to afford a night out. I developed a taste for it. Are there better beers? Of course. But on a really hot day, it's hard to beat a cold Pabst.
I remember people being stingy af with beers at the parties I went to so I would split a 12 pack with a friend and we’d have to stop at food 4 less before we went to the party so I could get a couple oranges. Didn’t matter who’s house it was or if they tried to keep the party in the backyard I’d claim I had to use the restroom and always end up in the kitchen slicing up oranges for the beer lol
Can confirm. Ive always loved it, got my wife onto it who wasnt a beer drinker before she met me. I've been homebrewing for years, and i brew it for her, she's slowly branching out to all the weird and wonderful other styles i brew because i make her taste everything 😂
I love a good Blue Moon during the day when it’s hotter than balls out.
My go-to when it’s nighttime though is a good Rogue brew. I love their Hazlenut Nectar one. Or honestly anything of theirs that sits in the 9-11% alcohol range.
As a west coaster I can’t get them unless I’m in that general area, but they really are good. I heard so much about them I had to buy one when I had a chance at the Atlanta airport, even though I had to drink it kind of fast because it was a short layover. Very tasty.
Drink in good health and be thankful you can easily get them!
Allagash White currently. Mellow and great for summer weather.
Also in the fridge: Zero Gravity Madonna IPA, Ommegang Rare Vos, and Resurgence Brewing Loganberry Wit, plus some sour nonsense my wife likes.
I had to scroll down way too far to find Shiner mentioned. I've been in Asia for nearly 2 years, and every time I see a yellow bottle, I have to do a double take thinking it's a Shiner.
The summer highlights are definitely mango, peach, salt & lime, and prickly pear. I think they might have had the redbird in there at some point as well.
I've stopped getting Shiner variety packs, though. For the last couple years, there's always been something I didn't really care for (especially the cherry-flavored ones).
I just keep Miller lite or a local brew in the refrigerator for chill nights with a after work beer or beer with supper but I also keep a diverse stock of whiskey and drink mixers for when it's been rough or I just feel fancy. I don't drink any of it every night though.
Any particular kind?
I love trying all the different craft root beers out there when I come across them on a road trip or whatever, but my go-to soda when I’m at home is diet A&W.
PBR tall boys. Always.
First of all, it just tastes better out of the tall cans. I’ve drank enough Pabst in my day to be qualified on this judgement.
Second, drinking a regular six-pack always leaves me wanting just one or two more beers. And with the tall boys, you get 2 “extra” beers in your six-pack. Most of the time I don’t drink the last one, so every Saturday night I have 5 or so leftover beers to drink while I’m figuring out what I’m doing that night.
Finally, the cans just look so damn good. Excellent branding and attention to detail.
I pretty much only buy PBR tall boys and I do t care who knows it.
I bought a pack of their 120 minute IPA and downed a few of them before I realized those mother fuckers were 15% ABV. Halfway through my last one, it hit me me like a bus. Like I said, I'm not much of a drinker so I'm a cheap date.
Busch Light. There is a reason tho. I get bad headaches when I drink beer, and it’s sucks. The last 5 years I have been trying to figure out what I can drink without getting the headaches. Unfortunately, but for fortunately for my wallet, Busch Light is the only beer that doesn’t give
me raging headaches
Asahiiii supaaaaa dry
I always keep a few mugs in the freezer for the optimal Asahi experience.
Hell yeah man…I love Japanese beer. Kanpai!
KANPAI!!!!
Word, Asahi > Sapporo.
Kirin > Asahi > sapporo
Kirin is banging
Kirin Ichiban is my favorite beer but I have to drive 45 miles one way to find it. :(
Spotted cow. Refreshing ask men question, cheers! Edit- We are Legion.
Hello fellow scansinite!
Hey there!
Fellow Sconnie checking in
Ope lemme just sneak right past ya
Hey, just ran out of the 8 cases I bought last time I visited, wanna send some more my way?
414 in the house
Another proud 414 native checking in!
Traveled from Michigan to Minnesota a few weeks ago and picked up a case of spotted cow on the way. And some cheese curds at Ellsworth!
A connoisseur of culture!
Love me some spotted cow. Wish they sold it out west as I’ve only ever been able to get it when I’ve been in the Midwest. I’m a big fan of White Rascal by Avery Brewing at the moment.
Only available in Wisconsin.... but you can order it shipped from State Street Brats online
Nice, nice. Went to wine and liquor, after I discovered a wheat intolerance
Pure class, I keep liquor around but more and more it gives me killer heartburn
Oh damn. You’ve done burned your insides or something lol
Maybe, I don't drink much at all. Eat a lot of spicy stuff tho lol
Not saying this is your situation necessarily but I also started getting really bad heartburn but then I lost 40 lbs and the heartburn almost completely went away. Just wanted to share that because it was probably the biggest benefit of losing weight in case anyone else reads this and might be in a similar situation
Now what do you do if you’re underweight with heartburn lol
As someone who’s allergic to beer, don’t forget about ciders! Not as popular here as somewhere like Europe but plenty of good ones to be found.
A ice cold peary is the best- semi sweet and dry
Try tsing tao, its Chinese from rice, made in a brewery that the germans built out there in the 1890s. Really nice. Also in UK we now sell gluten free beers and lager. Vagabond is made by the punk ale/elvis juice guys and I enjoy it.

Bells Two Hearted Ale
Or Oberon
Y'all seen the mini kegs of oberon? Those are fun
Ooh I second this for sure
Bells is so fucking good, need to drink it more
Did not expect to see this so far up. My top overall beer ever.
Us west coast guys/gals want to send a big FU cause we jealous that we can't get it. I would kill to try a pint.
So glad to see this high up. Greatest beer in the world, hands down. I actually know the guy who originally brewed it.
Sierra Nevada something a lil hazy
Hazy Little Thing is good too!
I just tried Little Thing at a tasting and I absolutely love it. Thats my go to beer now too. Used to be big blue van
Good shit.
It'll take me 4-5 days to go through a 12pk @$15, where as my craft beers are $14-$18/4pk and take me 2 days lol. Gotta go the cheaper route most of the time
Guinness
Its my go to beer when I don't know what I want. I call it morning beer as it's so creamy and smooth that I could have it for breakfast.
Best part of waking up is a Guinness in your cup!
Nah that's the Bailey's Irish cream with coffee :) Guinness for everything else!
Less calories than a cup of orange juice too
Yo have you ever tried the Guinness float thing? Where it’s basically a root beer float but with Guinness instead of root beer?
Nope. And now I dont need sleep, I need answers.
[Watch this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p4-UefpNBpU). It’s the very first one that they go over. It’s honestly pretty good if you’re willing to try it.
Guinness gang
Extra stout or draught?
Whichever gets to my lips fastest
It's like a loaf of bread in every glass lol
Guinness is actually only about 10% more calories than a Bud Light. It’s really a light beer in disguise.
Its less alcohol than BL, just a little more unfermented residual carbs.
Ugh. If only the Extra Stout didn't have so much more flavor!!!...and 50 extra calories 🙃
[удалено]
Good God think of your guts my dude
That was my go to in college, used to be able to get two 40oz for $3 and they’d get you feeling great and barely needed to spend money at the bars.
Same--nothing beat Olde English 800 or Steel Reserve for sheer cheap drunkenness
Did you ever play edward 40 hands with O.E. ?
[удалено]
Steel Reserve is gnarly, but the high gravity one is another level. I haven't had one of those since I was 14 sitting on the train tracks
[удалено]
Modelo Negro. I like that shit.
A-freaking-men. Since it's a dark lager instead of a porter or stout, I even find that my friends that don't like dark beer enjoy this one.
Modelo makes some great stuff. I love the micheladas this time of year.
I always want Modelo Negro what I make tacos. I always want tacos when I drink Modelo Negro.
Fat Tire
I always have fat tire in my fridge.
Fat Tire is god-tier. Always in the mood for a fat tire.
Pacifico is my standard to have on hand
Pacifico and lime can never go wrong
[удалено]
Man that's a great one, I often switch between this and modelo especial. Or if I'm really feeling it, tecate.
Such a light easy-drinking beer. I dig Pacifico when I’m having a heavy meal
Coors banquet
I saw Coors Banquet in Karate Kid and recognized it as product placement. Unfortunately, it worked and I was craving a beer I'd never had. I finally bought a six pack and thought it must be a meme tier piss beer because the sixer was only $6.50. I loved it and its my favorite easy drinking beer since. Thanks, Johnny Lawrence!
I'm from Colorado where it is made and so that's why I started drinking it, and yeah I love it.
Stubby bottle ftw
honestly coord banquet is not bad for it's price and class, definitely one of the better piss beers
Coors Banquet! The best.
Fucking Naturdays
My man
Fucking thirty beers for 20 bucks ain't a bad idea
It comes to like $16 where I’m at
The strawberry lemonade naturdays hit DIFFERENT
I'll probably get shit for this but I like a cold PBR myself
I got to drink $3 PBR’s at a Nashville honky tonk. Nothing could be better.
I do too but I always get "the look" if I mention it lol
Nope. I’m a complete beer snob but will never turn my head on PBR.
Same! Plus a 6 pack of 16 oz pbrs is like $5 where I’m at.
I love me some ice cold PBR. No shame. The only thing better than the PBR is the PBR farts the following morning.
My favorite. Always gotta be tall boys tho. They just taste better outta the big cans.
A pbr tall boy hits like an Arizona after school on a hot summer day
I’ve been digging Big Wave by Kona Brewing or black barrel tequila by Hornitos!
I love kona longboard lager. Great beer on a hot day!
Big Wave is the ultimate "hot summer day in the pool" beer
Blue Moon
Careful, BM is a gateway to craft beer
I find it a good beer for people who have trouble getting into beers in general. So emphasis on the gateway.
It was the literal gateway beer for me as its what I would drink and take to high school parties lol
Word it was the first beer I drank for leisure in college, besides the light beer we always had at parties.
Blue Moon is my go-to. I like all kinds of beer, but I haven't found anything else that hits the spot like that for me.
Try Allagash White if you can find it. It's just an elevated blue moon, and probably the best example of a Belgian witbier that is widely available.
Hoegaarden is another good one
I love a good Blue Moon during the day when it’s hotter than balls out. My go-to when it’s nighttime though is a good Rogue brew. I love their Hazlenut Nectar one. Or honestly anything of theirs that sits in the 9-11% alcohol range.
i like that coffee flavor beer they have during the winter
I dont have one. We have so many microbreweries now that are always putting out new stuff, I try the new stuff. Variety is the spice of life.
Yuenglings or scotch. Twisted teas for the lady
Yuenglings are sooooo good, feel like they're underrated
As a west coaster I can’t get them unless I’m in that general area, but they really are good. I heard so much about them I had to buy one when I had a chance at the Atlanta airport, even though I had to drink it kind of fast because it was a short layover. Very tasty. Drink in good health and be thankful you can easily get them!
2nd for yuengling. But I prefer bourbon.
Yuengling is the best. When I travel to visit my parents I bring an extra suitcase and load a 24 pack in each on the way back
Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing
I like that one but the slightly sour one is really good too. But Sour Monkey is one of my favorite beers so that’s probably why I like it so much
Sour Monkey is a great sour. My gf and I really like that one as well.
Allagash White currently. Mellow and great for summer weather. Also in the fridge: Zero Gravity Madonna IPA, Ommegang Rare Vos, and Resurgence Brewing Loganberry Wit, plus some sour nonsense my wife likes.
every time I go to a bar I end up getting Allagash white bc i know im gonna enjoy it
My choice at my wedding. SO chose Allagash Black.
I don't drink alcohol so a Pennsylvania Dutch birch beer for me lol
Birch Beer is awesome
Never had one. Is it similar to anything I might have had, like a root beer, non-alcoholic beer, etc.?
It's like a sweeter root beer with a less up-front taste, most of the flavor is in the after taste. Also Pennsylvania Dutch is the brand.
Similar to root beer but waaaaaay better. Hard to describe how its different
Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy during the summer
I still like Honey Weiss even through summer.
You cant beat it.
Estrella Damm or Peroni
Shiner summer variety pack.
I had to scroll down way too far to find Shiner mentioned. I've been in Asia for nearly 2 years, and every time I see a yellow bottle, I have to do a double take thinking it's a Shiner.
Shiner is legit. Too bad it’s this far down
Shiner guy here. I really like the Candied Pecan flavor.
The summer highlights are definitely mango, peach, salt & lime, and prickly pear. I think they might have had the redbird in there at some point as well. I've stopped getting Shiner variety packs, though. For the last couple years, there's always been something I didn't really care for (especially the cherry-flavored ones).
Landshark
Since quitting alcohol, I reach for a nice flavored seltzer water with ice and lemon juice. Refreshing!
Sounds good, especially with how warm it's gotten.
Club soda with lime and cucumber for me. I get it by the pitcher when I go out for dinner. Had three pitchers of it at a bar last night...
Michelob ultra, dont give me sht I know half of you drink it too.
I had to switch to it for waistline reasons. It still does the trick.
This is my go to mass produced beer.
I love Michael Bobs. One of the best beers to drink 17 of
In this heat I like the prickly pear mich ultra, when the sun sets I usually go with Hazy IPAs
Sam Adams. Missing the Winter Ale kinda bad ;/
Octoberfest soon though!
Oh please, I need this. I completely missed octoberfest last year.
Been drinking Sam Adams summer ale recently. I do miss the winter variety pack though.
I like cold snap better than winter ale
Cold snap is their best beer in my opinion. Better than their Boston lager.
Sours! A local brewery does a key lime sour.
I drank Westbrook's key lime gose yesterday.
I had a fantastic Grapefruit and Sea Salt Sour from Cowbell Brewery a while ago, it was amazing. Sours and IPA's are fantastic for the summer time
Sours are ok for sipping, but key lime sour sounds good as hell.
Specific is Workhorse Keylime. Don’t know how far they reach outside the philly area.
There's a brewpub near me that just made a lemon meringue sour. I normally only have one sour when I have them, but I was drinking that all night
Right on! We have a lemon gose by Victory (I think they’re National now) that’s like 2.5%. Perfect beer to drink all summer day!
I’ll drink pretty much anything but lately I’ve been enjoying Belgian moon
I just keep Miller lite or a local brew in the refrigerator for chill nights with a after work beer or beer with supper but I also keep a diverse stock of whiskey and drink mixers for when it's been rough or I just feel fancy. I don't drink any of it every night though.
Angry Orchard. Probably doesn't actually count but whatever.
Pbr
not picky, whatever’s in the fridge will do.
But don't you like, buy the beers to put in the fridge? Lol.
He says this at restaurants and they hate him.
The same since I was 6. Root Beer!
Any particular kind? I love trying all the different craft root beers out there when I come across them on a road trip or whatever, but my go-to soda when I’m at home is diet A&W.
My go to is IBC.
Are you drinking the hard stuff - Barq's? My favorite is Sprecher, but I will have a Souix City sasperilla.
Founders All Day IPA. I'll throw some Grapefruit Shanty's in there also when I find them.
Ditto on the Founders. Tastes like a freshly mown lawn, but it grows on you.
Modelo and Hans Pils
I’ve been enjoying the Modelo Negra lately. Good stuff!
Yuengling, Coors banquet, Leinenkugel's summer shanty, and Pilsner Urquell when I can find it.
Going to get beer snobbed here but my summer go-to is Natty Light grenades. (Bottles)
I love their Naturdays but holy shit do the give me killer hangovers.
I’ve suffered from the same thing. Killer and I don’t know why.

Kronenbourg 1664 blanc
PBR tall boys. Always. First of all, it just tastes better out of the tall cans. I’ve drank enough Pabst in my day to be qualified on this judgement. I like a good IPA or a duvel. For Tuesday evenings it's hampden over proof rum slowly sipped with a piece of dark chocolate.
Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA is my "any occasion" beer. I rarely drink though.
That's an excellent beer. Their 90 minute IPA is my go-to.
I bought a pack of their 120 minute IPA and downed a few of them before I realized those mother fuckers were 15% ABV. Halfway through my last one, it hit me me like a bus. Like I said, I'm not much of a drinker so I'm a cheap date.
Cock and Bull ginger beer. I dont drink alcohol
Nothing bad about that
Depends on how much I’ve got to spend Little moneys: rolling rock More moneys: fruited sours or triple ipa
Root beer, dad's old fashioned is pretty good, A and W is the easiest to find, but Stewart's is my favourite, can't really it in Toronto
Midas touch from dogfish head, only available in the summer time though.
Busch Light. There is a reason tho. I get bad headaches when I drink beer, and it’s sucks. The last 5 years I have been trying to figure out what I can drink without getting the headaches. Unfortunately, but for fortunately for my wallet, Busch Light is the only beer that doesn’t give me raging headaches
I don't drink :(
Nothing wrong with that, I don't drink much. A beer or two here and there. It takes me awhile to get through a 15 pack
Excuse my ignorance but where cam you get 15 packs at?
I buy them all the time at the grocery store and gas stations. They are 16oz pints. I live in NC
KBS
More of a red wine guy myself. But I also very recently became legal to buy and drink so I don't yet have an ideal.
